When the diesel generator is working, it will generate a lot of heat. Cooling water is required to cool the diesel engine. The cooling water takes away the heat of the diesel engine. At the same time, the high-temperature cooling water from the diesel engine also needs a cooling water medium to cool it. There are two commonly used methods: one is to cool the high-temperature cooling water in the water tank by a fan driven by the diesel engine, commonly known as air cooling; the other is to cool the cooling water inside the diesel engine through water in a pool or cooling tower, commonly known as water cooling.
Air cooling and water cooling have their own advantages. We can make a choice according to their use environment. Generally, the unit needs to be relocated frequently. Air cooling should be selected. If the unit is fixed for a long time, water cooling should be selected. Choose water cooling, because the removal of the fan and cooling water tower can reduce the noise and noise of the unit by about 10 decibels. At the same time, the power consumed by the fan is about 5% of the rated power of the unit. Generally in hot weather areas, the water temperature of the diesel engine often exceeds the rated range. As a result, the diesel engine runs at high temperature, while the cooling water tower can be considered to control the water temperature, and air cooling is restricted.
The cooling principle is as follows:
The hot water produced by the diesel engine flows from the outlet pipe of the diesel engine to the heat exchanger. The cold water in the cooling pipe of the heat exchanger cools the circulating hot water of the diesel engine. After the circulating hot water of the diesel engine is cooled, it returns to the diesel engine and performs a cool down. After cooling the circulating hot water of the diesel engine, the cold water in the cooling tube of the heat exchanger increases in water temperature, and is pumped to the cooling tower for cooling, and then sent to the cooling tube of the heat exchanger after cooling. The water temperature of the diesel engine can be adjusted by adjusting the opening of the water valve, and the filter screen filters the cold from the cooling tower, and then enters the heat exchange tube. The water cooling project can ensure that the diesel engine works at the best water temperature of 85-90 degrees Celsius.
